If your child has any assignment(s) marked as missing (M) in Aspire, they will need to complete outside school hours.

All students have personal fitness plans kept up to date in journals.  Each class they are required to follow their plan and record the results in their journal.  Being tardy or absent does not excuse students from their assignments.  Please contact me if your student is injured, ill, and/or unable to follow their fitness plan and an alternative assignment will be arranged.

Fitness Journal Criterion:

  1. Students take and record their 1 minute resting heart rate, exercise heart rate, and recovery heart rate.

  2. Follow the F.I.T.T plan (Frequency, Intensity, Time, Type) as specified for the week; A progressive overload formula that changes every week and is documented each time students exercise.

  3. Students document how many sets they reach during their workout.

  4. Students evaluate their effort level and then rate and record their perceived level of exertion.

Students are responsible for measuring, tracking, analyzing, and applying their individual fitness plans to receive credit.

The following workouts can be done in a small space, require not weights, and target dynamic flexibility, cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular endurance, and muscular strength.

  1. *Perform the 2-minute warmup or 2 minutes of Unbound

  2. **Perform a cardiorespiratory workout for half of the time

  3. **Perform a muscular endurance/strength workout for half of the time

*Unbound is a more advanced warmup option

**For example, divide the amount of time specified in the F.I.T.T. plan and do Breathless (cardio emphasis) for half and Prometheus (muscular emphasis) for half; An 11 minute workout would be 5.5 minutes of Breathless and 5.5 minutes of Prometheus.

Please keep in mind that there are always modifications that can be made if needed.  Please let me know if you have questions or concerns.

Thanks,

Mr. Bishop
